Canvasback Lodge is located on Lake Poygan in Waushara County in small central Wisconsin town of Tustin, which was considered the Canvasback (a diving duck) capital of the world back in the late 1800's when the lake was much more like a marsh than the beautiful lake it is today. We have great sandy swimming right in front of the lodge, incredible fishing, and thousands of miles of shoreline for any boater. Lake Poygan is part of the Winnebago upriver system. We have boating access to Fremont, Winneconne, Orihula, Oshkosh and all of Lake Winnebago. Tons of bars, restaurants and swimming hot spots. Canvasback used to be a large sports bar called it Big City Bar & Grill built in 2000. We converted it into our family's vacation paradise in 2019/20. We have 5 large bedrooms which sleeps 18, a 2,000 sf great room area loaded with lake-view windows. The great room offers a pool table, mini basketball and 2 different bar areas. There is a large dining / multi-purpose room just to the East of the great room. We also have great fish cleaning area in the garage. Extra refrigerator and freezer available. On the bathrooms, we have a men's room that has 2 urinals, one toilet and one walk-in shower with 2 sinks. We also have a women's bathroom with 2 toilets and a tub-surround shower, a large vanity and 2 sinks. These were converted over from the former sports bar and are completely renovated. There is also a washer and drier at the end of the west bedroom hallway. We have 3 permanent docks for all of your boat docking needs. We have lighted sand volleyball and spike ball areas. We also include 2 kayaks, 1 stand-up paddle board, a large swim pad and one (2 person) canoe. We also have side yard that has a large grass area that is perfect for soccer matches and wiffle ball to mention just a few uses. We have a large concrete patio area that has a covered bar and shaded lounge area that over looks the lake and the sand play areas mentioned above. We have about 115' of lake frontage which has a boardwalk across the front. We have swim ladders both on the board walk and on the end of the dock. The fishing - the Walleye action picks up in late march with the Wolf River being about a 10 minute boat trip away. Then in late April, the Whitebass fishing picks up and people travel from across the Midwest to catch a limitless supply of this aggressive eater. The lake walleye and northern pike action start in late may and runs through August. Lastly, the winter fishing access continues with walleye, whitebass and northern pike from first ice til spring returns. Crappie, bluegill and perch fishing go all summer long both in the channels and in the Wolf River. There is a great supply of marshes and lake-cane waterfowl hunting throughout the fall too. There are many different levels of golf available throughout the area. The Fox River Mall is also only about 25 minutes away which has everything you should ever need. We do have a local gas station/hardware store in Poy Sippi that is 4 miles away which has an incredible selection of almost everything too.

Lake house situated on a private drive that includes a boathouse on a waterway to the back of the house and a west facing exposure to the main lake. Floatable toys and a kayak make it easy to enjoy the lake which is wadeable for almost 200 yards from a new dock with chairs to relax in. Boats are easily rentable and the closest boat launch is less than a mile from the house. April through June are great fishing months with the fishing action slowing down towards the end of July and staying slow the rest of the summer. Tubing and skiing are very enjoyable during this time and an old set of skis and an inflatable tube are available to use if you decide to rent a boat. A fire pit with plenty of outdoor chairs and an outdoor dining table with seating for 8 makes it the perfect spot to eat dinner then make smores and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. There are two charcoal grills available to use with grilling utensils. Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid. You can bring your own wood or contact me prior to your stay and arrangements can be made to have wood available for you for a price. Please do not take wood from the close stacks of firewood as that is my neighbors or our own personal supply. There is a very well stocked kitchen with most every small appliance available to use. There is a television and DVD player. The TV gets local channels but no cable or internet. There is also no WiFi. Some puzzles, board games, and books are available to use if unfortunately the weather doesn’t cooperate. The lake house is also a half hour drive to either Appleton or Oshkosh if you would rather explore a city. With beds to fit over 12, it makes a great place to hold an extended family get together.

Located in a quiet little neighborhood, away from the city's hustle and bustle. Casablanca is our home away from home. Take a look at my pictures and read what other guests have to say about their time at Casablanca. It's nice to read these reviews and what others have written, this should help you decide if Casablanca is the right place for you! Right away when you walk in the front door of Casablanca, you can see the beautiful Lake Poygan through the wall of windows just beyond the living room. In the kitchen, your views of the lake only get better, with a breakfast nook & lounge (aka the circle of love) area in the bay windows. There is a large kitchen table, which can easily seat 8. In the family room, your views of the lake are right in front of you, and in the evening after you have played on the lake all day, you will have a 48" TV w/dish network to watch as you sit back and relax. There is a convenient half-bath just around the corner from the family room. We also have a whole-house sound system, using CD's or an aux cord that plays your music throughout the house, outside and in the garage. The kitchen has a 5-burner stove with double oven and Bosch dishwasher. Our kitchen has large custom cupboards for any storage you may need. The kitchen will have all the basics for your use... pots, pans, utensils, air fryer, toaster, keurig machine and a traditional coffee pot, Ninja blender/mixer, dinnerware and silverware. All on the main floor, opposite side of the house as the family room, there are three bedrooms, all of which have a 40" tv using dish network. The elegant Master has a King size adjustable bed facing the lake, one large guest walk-in closet, and a master ensuite, featuring a water closet and separate shower. Both spacious guest rooms feature a Queen sized bed and a loveseat. Guest bedroom 1, has been named The Nautical Room. As you may have guessed, it is decorated in a nautical theme with a couple sea turtles lurking around. Guest bedroom 2 has been named The Mermaid Room. With tasteful mermaid decor, this room is as relaxing as as it is beautiful. The guest bath is quite large and has a tub/shower combination, and a very large linen closet for all of the towels and toiletries. Downstairs, it is all VERY open! You will be amazed at just how large this basement is! The basement family room set up has a ceiling mounted movie projection. This means you get to watch your television stations and movies as they are projected onto the wall for a HUGE viewing area. The basement has a separate room/bedroom that can sleep four in twin bunk beds and a twin trundle bed. In the family room area, there are also two full sized futon couches/beds that can sleep four more people. In the "game room" we have a queen sized electric air mattress/bed that is there for you to use if you need. It is in a compact suitcase carrier so it is easy to set up and easy to take down and be out of the way for daytime. We have an 8' Brunswick pool table AND a cool foosball table ... There are game tables for board games, card games or dominoes; and we have a cart style popcorn machine! The kids - both big and small - are going to love coming downstairs to just hang out! Also downstairs is the washer and dryer, which you are welcome to use. No ironing on vacation! At the end of our 80' long and 4' wide, sturdy dock, the water is just waist high (abt 3') You'll also see that is where we keep our watercraft on lifts. If you are interested in renting our 22' Bowrider Jet Boat and/or either of the two Jet Skis during your stay, they may be available. Of course, they would be under separate rental agreement and fees. We have lifevests of our own that are available for you to use, however, it is ultimately your responsibility for the safety of those on or near the water. On our huge patio, there is plenty of comfortable chairs and seating for everyone! You can also enjoy some time outside throwing bean bags or sitting around the fire. (Wood, marshmallows and crackers...we try to have a constant supply here, and ask that you kindly replenish whatever you have consumed.) ps we no longer have kayaks The town of Winneconne is a cute, friendly, small community. The 20 minute drive to Oshkosh and the 30 minute drive to Appleton are both real easy ... even for me! Lake Poygan is a sandy bottom lake, GREAT for fishing in all four seasons of Wisconsin. In the winter months, ice fishing and snowmobiling are also very popular in this area. Lake Poygan is on a chain of lakes, and is great for all day boating! Lake Poygan flows into Lake Butte des Morts (pronounced 'beauti-more'), down the Wolf river and then into Lake Winnebago. Dozens of stops for fuel and food all around ... and lots to see along the way. You never know what kind of wildlife you will see. It is not unusual to see eagles, ducks, and pelicans; and on land you may encounter cranes, deer and rabbit.... I've seen pictures of a family of fox in our backyard from other guests, as well as a couple of groundhogs that like to stay by the lake in our backyard.... there was a debate about what this creature actually was. It is the Guest’s responsibility to learn about safety precautions, warning signs and safety procedures concerning Lake Poygan (i.e. parks, trails, fishing, ice, algae, water conditions, etc.) before entering into contract and/or making payment. Visit Lambeau Field - just 45 minutes away Nice property on Lake Winneconne with fishing and boating right outside the door. Enjoy the sounds of nature right from your living room. Natural habitat nearby means plenty of ducks, geese, and even owls are not uncommon to see from the deck. As the water cools the fishing picks up and you can catch walleye, bluegill, perch, and even a northern from the deck. Of course there are always the catfish and bullheads to contend with as you dip your line in the water. Catch a Green Bay Packers game while you're in the area - it's about a 45 minute drive to the stadium where you can enjoy great dining options, the Packers Hall of Fame, and many other activities in the stadium district. Check out the local breweries while you're at it. This building is a pole barn type structure that has two sections to it. One section consists of the living quarters, and the other section is an area with two boat slips. It is located over the water so you should expect there to be the smell of water. The living area has central air so within minutes of turning it on the humidity will be removed from the air. The EAA grounds are a short 10 minute drive into Oshkosh. There you can tour the air museum and explore aircraft exhibits. The living quarters has a loft bedroom that sleeps 5 plus an additional two on the queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. There is a fully stocked kitchen with a snack bar. There is a small pub table to enjoy meals at if the snack bar is not your style. The living room has a pull out leather sleeper sofa and a large flat screen tv. Only local channels are available - there is no satellite or cable tv but there is Roku for you to stream with. There is internet service. Patio table, umbrella and chairs as well as propane grill included. There are toys for the little ones. There is a side yard with a fire pit along the side dock area. You will need to provide your own firewood. There is a large parking area with plenty of room to park your boat trailer. The boathouse portion of the building consists of a large dock area with two boat slips. There is plenty of room to stock your boat, clean fish, or even fish if it is raining outside. There is also space to tie boats to along the side yard. There is a set of patio doors between the living area and the boathouse area so you are able to access each area directly from the other without going outside. If you choose to leave those patio doors open there is a screen to keep out the bugs. You will hear the sounds of the water and smell the water if it is hot and humid and you do this. This property is on the water so you will have the sounds of the water as well as the smell of the water. If you do not enjoy that type of atmosphere this is not the place for you. Depending on the time of year you will hear catfish rolling in the boathouse while they spawn, especially in the early morning hours and around sunset. This may awaken you in the early morning if you leave the windows open. You may see ducks floating by or even catch sight of an owl fishing in the channel. You are right on top of the action being that this house sits over the water. The waterfront was completely redone in 2018 and consists of steps leading into the water for easy loading and unloading of your boat, or for your furry friends to take a swim and climb back out. This lake is not a deep lake and is known for its fishing. The many weed beds are great fishing habitat. During a fishing tournament you will see boats in the channel the property is on as it is a great spot to fish. The Wolf river runs through the lake and that is where you will find the deeper water. You can even boat up the river for many miles beginning at the cottage and going through Lake Poygan to the river mouth and then stopping at quaint pubs, cafe's and restaurants along the way. If you choose to go down river you can boat from Winneconne Lake, to Lake Butte de Morts to Lake Winnebago . Folks, this is not a luxury resort. It is a very clean, quaint boathouse. Please don't think you are going to be staying in some high class motel with room service. Between each guest it is professionally cleaned by a cleaning service. A new state of the art heat pump providing central air and heat has been installed. There is a brand new reverse osmosis filtration system for your drinking water but it is an artesian well so if you are not accustomed to the taste of well water it may taste different to you. The hot water system is also a brand new on-demand tankless system so you'll always have plenty of fresh hot water with no odor. The property is tested for mold annually and has always come back clear.
